About the El Charolais family of restaurants

Head of the El Charolais family, Jose Luis Jauregu has run restaurants in Johnson City since 2004.

An innovative thinker, Jose has developed new ways to enhance the dining experience. El Charolais was one of the first restaurants in Johnson City to have authentic Mexican Foods on the menu. From steaks, seafood, and salads, to traditional tacos,  sopes, and tortas; everything is made fresh daily. On Saturdays and Sundays we have special traditional plates such as menudi, pozole and barbacoa-de-borrego. Quality products, delicious food, and a friendly waitstaff make for a family-oriented environment and an all-around great dining experience. 

Our popular campus location offers a contemporary sports bar atmosphere. We believe we have the coldest beer and the best margaritas in town! The drinks are artfully presented and overflowing with fresh ingredients. Happy Hour is every Monday & Wednesday 5 - 10 pm (13 oz margaritas) and on Tuesday & Thursday (32 oz draft beer) specials with a meal.
